In reading the daily and Sunday newspapers is it any wonder that ordinary people have come to distrust the British criminal justice system? Some go so far as to say that it has been Americanised.
In reading the case studies in this book we are forced to ask ourselves in the words of the prophet Micah:

This is the standard we ought to promote and these words must be applied to all those who govern, including the judiciary as well as those who are being governed in our country.
