The Golden Arrows coach told me that he wants a new clause in all contracts outlawing racism on pain of the sack and forfeiting any claim to compensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFA\u2019s need to be very strong on Coaches who disrespect the game,\u201d Komphela said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey should not tolerate ill-disciplined Coaches who disrespect our Afrikan people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the question of what to do about it Komphela was emphatic \u2013 he wanted to see African football introduce an anti-racism clause to all contracts in African football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liverpool\u2019s first black player, Howard Gayle, agrees. Gayle wants to help African football develop in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMaybe this is a wake-up call for Africa \u2013 these white coaches who come to Africa and use it as a cash cow,\u201d Gayle said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s really no interest in developing African football. It\u2019s just an end of career situation, or the fact that they can\u2019t get jobs in their own environment, but his Eymael\u2019s] comments signify again that he is uneducated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gayle suffered racist abuse throughout his career. He supports Komphela\u2019s demands for serious change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have suffered racism for centuries,\u201d Gayle said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfricans have endured outrageous racism in Europe and also in our own continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEnough is enough. White coaches cannot expect to come to Africa and get away with blatant and outrageous racism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll football contracts in Africa must include an anti-racism clause. Breach it and you lose your job without compensation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Komphela agrees with Gayle\u2019s suggestion on the clause and punishment for breaching it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<a>I strongly believe so<\/a>,\u201d the former Kaiser Chiefs boss said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>High-priced Rant<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tanzania\u2019s Young Africans sacked Eymael after the coach\u2019s \u2018monkeys and dogs\u2019 rant insulting Tanzania, Yanga\u2019s officials<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Komphela has butted heads with the controversial Belgian coach Luc Eymael. He wrote to PSL clubs about Eymael, but nothing was done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am not surprised,\u201d Komphela said about Eymael\u2019s latest spat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe lacks respect for the Afrikan people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMaybe he\u2019s racist, based on his consistent distasteful utterances throughout the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfrika does not need such Coaches.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Komphela tried to raise awareness previously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve warned our South Africans about this Coach and they never listened,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHis record shows a Coach completely disrespectful and oblivious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe deserves what will follow him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe hope FIFA helps Afrika restore respect and eradicate racism against Africans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Progress&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Komphela and Gayle are adamant that more needed to be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfrica has to wake up to this call, because this has being going on for a number of years now where people are using Africa as a cash cow and not really as a mode of developing their own careers, or the development of African football andAfrica has to wake up to this and maybe in the future they should look at European black coaches \u2013 ex players \u2013 who would be willing to come to Africa and coach and coach-educate young African coaches at grass roots level, because that\u2019s where we need to be with African football,\u201d Gayle said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe need to have a programme that\u2019s developed from grass roots football to senior and international football, because it is about time that Africa laid its hands on the World Cup.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Komphela agrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEducation is the very basis of knowledge,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKnowledge is in the hands of locals because they understand the cultural background. Afrika needs to adapt her Coach Education programs to international standards and not copy and paste because by so doing a lot is lost and culture gets lost as we import foreign content as is than adapt it to Afrikan context.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He called for coach-education to address the lack of respect shown to Africans too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Coach Education must design programs that address racism,\u201d Komphela insisted. \u201cRespect and racism must be part of Coach Education syllabus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Tatters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Eymael\u2019s African soujurn is in tatters. He took to social media to apologise and insist that his comments \u2013 made a while ago \u2013 was just frustration at losing second place, and not a reflection of his beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yanga won second place and is therefore set to compete in Africa\u2019s top football competition next season along with the champions Simba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Young Africans\u2019 Board were heart-broken by Eymael\u2019s conduct. They fired him yesterday and demanded that he leaves Tanzania immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tanzania Football Federation also took action. It plans to report Eymael to FIFA to prevent repetition in other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Planning for the Future<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Komphela wants this latest warning to be the clarion call African football has needed.
